Dr. Robert and Dr. K talk about the lower back, reminding viewers of the three types of movement for the back. Tension means the back muscles aren’t relaxed enough. The exercises work on getting horizontal to relax the back. Get on all fours with the back stable and flexing the low part of the back. The patient flexes and extends the low back with a small movement. Then, they add hip flexion and extension. The next step is to get on one side with legs bent and separated to open up the lower back. It’s important to breathe from the belly to help with the movements. Do a few of the movements if you sit a lot or have some pain and/or stiffness.
